CMC-Culture & Management Consulting was founded by Mijnd Huijser in 1993. Mijnd holds an academic degree in Philosophy and Cultural Anthropology.
He lived and worked for more than fifteen years in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and France. He worked in joint assignments with Geert Hofstede
and Fons Trompenaars.
With over a decade of working with international managers, he developed the Model of Freedom, a framework that visualises differences and similarities in how people perceive, interpret and behave. It is a highly pragmatic structure, an active tool that is especially valuable in visualising the advantages of different preferences. Mijnd’s book The Cultural Advantage deals extensively with the Model of Freedom.
Danaë Huijser joined her father’s company in 2006. Danaë holds academic degrees in Organisational Psychology and Internal Business. She was born in France, and lived and worked in the Netherlands, the Dutch Antilles, the USA, Brazil and Portugal.
In 2007, CMC-Culture & Management Consulting repositioned itself with two brands: CMC-Europe, located in the Netherlands, and CMC-Asia, located in Singapore. As of 2010, the brands have grown into two independent companies. CMC-Europe is headed by Danaë, and CMC-Asia by Mijnd, who relocated to Asia. They work in close partnership in European-Asian projects.
