Our philosophy
We believe biological and cultural evolution are moving naturally towards more complexity. Cultural development is going faster than our biological evolution, and societies have become increasingly complex systems. Human relations are more important than ever in a world where space and time dimensions have become practically irrelevant. Interconnectedness increases as limits of space and time have almost been erased. New political, economic, social and especially technological innovations allow us to communicate with virtually anyone and everyone, moving goods, data and people across the globe without much effort or cost.
We all naturally develop trust and empathy with our close family and relations. However, we are not naturally inclined to trust people that we consider strangers, people outside of our family or culture. As our cultural evolution overtakes our biological evolution, we need to bridge a trust and communication barrier in order to create non-zero sum games with our global connections.
The more people we connect to, the more innovations will develop. Innovation is part of human nature and a key driver of development. Yet innovation would be impossible and unnecessary without diverse connections.
In order to connect with people that do not share our norms and values, we have to learn how to be aware and appreciative of differences, while remaining authentic in protecting our sense of personal and social freedom and security. This is where CMC can help. We facilitate the process of overcoming the challenges and capitalising on the advantages of diversity, leading to more effective cooperation and enhanced innovative potential.
